The Brotherhood Of the Traveling Stopper...

How about a Traveling Pink Tri-cam? |

AndrewArroz wrote: Brilliant. Isn't it great how one good idea just spawns another? I have complete set of SMC Cam Locks, BTW (you have to be over 55 to remember these), and they'd be even more embarrassing than hexes to lug around (although they don't have the same charming cow-bell-ness). |

Is there a stopper in the brotherhood waiting to be placed into the hands of a new traveler? If so, please contact me. |

Daniel Howe wrote: If you really want one, AndrewArroz has stated he'd be willing to pass Resurrection along. PM him if you want it, but only if you're confident you'll get out and use it. |

Tony B wrote: I’d love to jump on the opportunity of bringing that stopper back into the fold, but 19 hour drive is a little far for me. I’m eager to get the stopper. I plan on recreating some of the climbing trips I made in my youth with a friend as part of a climbing weekend to celebrate my birthday. Let’s hope for a speedy delivery. |

If somebody's actually interested, I've got an SMC camlock I'd be willing to put into circulation |

eli poss wrote: Oh YA! You ever placed it, without it; a) falling out when you looked at it b) felt that it would stay when you moved past it Or for htat matter, fallen on one? I bought a full rack of them years ago, and there they sit, in the museum, where they belong! And ya, horizontals.... |

Muscrat wrote: I actually haven't ever placed them. I bought them thinking that they would work as nuts with the added bonus of camming if you ever needed them to. Needless to say, I realized my mistake the moment I set eyes upon them. Boy, did I feel like a real dumbass. If somebody is crazed enough to seek out the adventure of finding a placement for these guys I'd happily send 'em out and I'd love to hear a TR. |

eli poss wrote: You'd love to hear a trip report, or an accident report? Those don't sound particularly confidence-inspiring.... |

Andrew Krajnik wrote: They are as good as anything else in a good placement. But they need a certain kind of placement. Eccentric hexes were superior to them, an or or less killed them off. But I've had better luck than Muscrat in placing them, when I bothered. I left my last one in Upper Progressive (at Lumpy) about 20 years ago when it was in a placement so hard to clean that my partner could not get it out. |

Got the stopper from Kat yesterday. I have a trip of sorts mapped out in March, as long as weather alows it. |

Got the stopper Thursday. Here's the trip report. Who's next?! |

I'll take it! |

Tony B wrote: Yeah, I thought I did well when I only had it in my possession for eleven days. Assuming it goes out on Monday, Daniel has it down to four! Great TR, Daniel, and kudos on the fast turn-around! (Congrats on the addition to the family, as well.) |
