Don't know why. It's a mechanical disadvantage, plus, why would having a short torso be desirable?

Hank is probably accurately reporting both of the numbers, BTW. 2.125" over the average for a caucasion, but remember, the standard deviation is pretty large, that's within a reasonably normal range...
