Description
South facing slab boulder with really good rock and several climbs including a crimpy seam right up the middle that is still a project (?)
Getting There
This boulder is in the Beaver Brook Zone of Pinneo Brook. Park at the Driving Range MTB parking area, walk along the bike trail that trends East towards the solar array and take a left into the obvious clearing where the bike trails start and exit.
Hike up the old logging road that goes straight up the hill from the clearing (staying off the MTB trails). Continue up hill until you get to the large fallen tree across the trail and leave the trail and head up the hill and trend left. This boulder is a few hundred feet north-west of the gneiss boulder (one of the most obvious boulders and one of the first you will arrive at when hiking into the boulderfield from the fallen tree)
You can also walk around the fallen tree, go diagonally north-west through the ferny clearing/ logging road intersection and continue on the logging road passing the Island Boulder on the left. Continue walking a few hundred feet up the trail and leave the trail to hike steeply up the hill in the opposite direction of the brook towards the small cliffband that has the section of rock known as the Feature Boulder. This way is probably further and steeper at the end but might be more straightforward for someone new to the area since it stays on the logging road longer.
