Description
The Deviate Wall, or Standard Deviation area, contains a few moderate sport climbs with some easier top ropes and a few gear routes. The approach is short, steep, and slippery. Landings for lead climbs aren't great here, but reaching the top to set anchors is no harder than getting to the wall itself.
The anchors for Turkey Chute, As the Crow Flies, and the Tower can also be approached from this area (the first two being considerably easier to reach than the last).
Getting There
The Deviate Wall is reached from the first fork off the main trail after leaving Middle Earth. There is a large stone staircase. I often miss the turnoff and have to backtrack from the Turkey Chute/Trailside area to see it.
All the routes here are on one formation, except for the Anonymous 2 Bolt, which is above the main wall and visible when scrambling to the top of the wall.
