Description
The Wing is home to long mixed routes and offers shade on summer mornings. A 70-meter rope and double rack make things comfy.
The wall and its original route (the lengthy crack climb along the left ridge) were named by Brennan Van Blair and Bill Garrett in the 80s, for its resemblance to an outstretched bird wing.
Getting There
Walk up to the base of the leftmost climbs. Several routes start to the right of these, deep in the base of the canyon and require a 4th class scramble. A chockstone tunnel provides a unique approach from the deep slot on the lower left side to the base of the upper right climbs.
To reach the upper middle and rightmost climbs, 4th class scramble to rightmost corner of the Wing Wall, or climb the Accessor wall. Or gain the ridge above via a number of other routes and rap in from one of three anchors.
