Description Suggest change

Windy Canyon is the small canyon across the road and uphill from Ledgemere. Most of the climbing in the canyon will be found on the East facing side but a few routes can be found on the West facing walls.  You will find walls and routes both at the bottom of the canyon as well as up high where the better climbing seems to be.

Getting There Suggest change

This large rock outcropping and little canyon to the east is directly across the road from the Ledgemere Picnic area and parking lot. A trail leading toward the trail that formerly held the aqueduct paralleling Big Cottonwood Canyon's North flank starts right across the street from Ledgemere, at the upper part of the parking area.  Initially, blocked by boulders, this well-known trail leads west and begins as a paved asphalt trail for about 100’.  At the end of the asphalt, section is a great view of the “dome” and the mini canyon.

At the junction with the larger trail, continue north—uphill—into the little canyon known as Windy Canyon.

It is only about 10-15min from the parking area to the mouth of Windy Canyon.
