Getting There
Two possible approaches:
1) The steeper but slightly shorter approach- Rt 302 west into Crawford Notch. Park at the Willey House parking. Start behind the gift shop on the Willey Range Trail. After about 1 mile the Ethan Pond Trail branches off left. Take this about another mile-and-a-half to the pond. Take the cut off to the shelter, but best overview of the crags is a bit beyond on the main trail on the left side of the pond.
2) Slightly longer but less steep - Rt 302 to the dead-end road where the Appalachian trail crosses Rt 302. (Webster Cliff trail starts on East side of 302) Drive up the dead end road to parking, then take the Ethan Pond trail ( the AT here) to the pond.

History
It is known that this crag was visited by "Todd Swain and crew" in the 1980's when he was working in NH. His recollections were a bit hazy and his notebooks were elsewhere when I contacted him. ( So, perhaps maybe more info from Todd later (?))
Recently ( 2024) Steve Mason and friend(s) ventured into the crag and climbed the obvious dike in the right side of the right-hand slab. (Some photos are posted) He reported two 50-meter pitches of reasonable "about 5.5" climbing up that dike. They then bushwhacked to the summit of Willey. ( BTW, Todd & crew did whatever climb they did after hiking up and over the summits of Tom, Field and Willey! Certainly an alpine day ! )
