Gros Bonnet (A.K.A. Le Cap des Sept Côtes) - Sanatorium, closed for hunting
This year (2025), these two climbing sites will be closed for firearm hunting from Saturday, October 11 to Sunday, October 26, inclusive.
However, the Sanatorium will ALSO be closed for bow and crossbow hunting from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, October 5, inclusive.
Reminder:
these climbing sites are located on private land that is part of the ZEC, but with hunting dates that often differ from those of the ZEC. The landowner has warned us that if he or his friends see us on his property during these dates, he will reconsider our access. So, not going there during hunting season is a small price to pay in exchange for free access the rest of the year
Getting There
Park a the small parking on the left side (north-west) of the road, identified with a blue sign (dont confuse with Sanatorium parking which is the first identified parking you encounter not long after crossing the bridge)
The trail is hard to spot, 10 meters north-east from the parking, on the left side of the road.
After walking about 10 minutes uphill, there is a yellow spine board fixed to a large tree. Keep the right at the spine board.
The first fixed rope you'll see should bring you to La Correction, L'Examen Final and L'Examen de rattrapage.
Continue on the trail toward climbers right to eventually reach Latin, Crissagus, ... , Plein Gaz.
