Description

The Adamello–Presanella Group describes the huge granite, glaciated peaks surrounding Monte Adamello (3,539m) and Cima Presanella (3,558m) located between Trentino and Lombardia. The range is home to ice, rock (mostly trad) and alpine lines.

The Versante Sud book Presanella Rock & Ice by Francesco Salvaterra is a good guidebook for the area, but is only published in Italian.

Getting There

From Milan, Bergamo or Brescia, general directions to Edolo, Passo del Tonale or Madonna di Campiglio will get you close to the Adamello–Presanella group. Much of the area is protected and glaciated, so driving into the group isn't an option. There is no one single way to approach the range, instead different valleys will lead to different peaks and walls.
