HUMAN WASTE: Human waste is a major issue plaguing the area. The Southern Nevada Climbers Coalition (SNCC) works to provide "wag bags" free of charge in several locations: Black Velvet Canyon, The Hamlet, Kraft Mountain Area, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor. These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out. Consider bringing one to be part of your daily kit no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly. Do not throw them in the toilets at the parking areas.
See https://www.southernnevadaclimbers.org/wag-bags for more information on the program.
Description
On the West side of Ash Canyon wash, a 100' long eyebrow arch/roof can be seen on the slabby face 100' out of the wash. This is the Ashbrow. It faces Northeast, so morning sun/afternoon shade. It has climbs on either end of the namesake feature. And either can be used to access the Fringe if desired. The left route, Tetrarch, climbs to the ledge below the right side of the Fringe. Kanguru, on the right end, is a single pitch up to the edge of the arch/roof.
Getting There
Park at Kraft parking lot and approach as for The Fringe to the start of the slab. Walk up 75' to the first bench and bear right staying on this bench as it gradually ascends along the lower left/southwest wall of Ash Canyon. A bit of boulder scrambling but mostly flat slab walking for 250' will lead you to the left end of the Ashbrow. Where the easy slab walking ends, look for the glue-in bolt line of Tetrarch. Another 100' of boulder traversing will land you on the right end of the Ashbrow and the route Kanguru. At this point the wash has almost caught up with base of the cliff.
