Description
This 80' tall northwest-facing cliff has several winter/mixed routes. Almost 250’ long, this wall is comprised of many roofs and overhanging faces. The rock structure at each end is a bit loose and portions remain wet throughout the year. Access to the top can be obtained following the trail at the right end and the view alone is worth a visit to this area. TR option the sport routes with short well protected rappels. The base of the wall is mostly flat making for easy and comfortable setup and belaying.
A couple of the routes are listed in Blue Lines 2, page 144.
Getting There
Park just north of Malfunction Junction on the shoulder of the road across from a clearing on the east side of the road. The clearing has a concrete wall and culvert, and is between the rickety bridge that spans the Boquet and the only house. Here is the parking location: 44.1108302964577,-73.67909073829652 ( goo.gl/maps/wkxTLXKjoQpWEjV6A).
Walk perpendicular to the road, across the center of the clearing. A small opening leads down into the gully and gives access to a climbers path marked with cairns. The trail leads up the steep hill. At the top continue walking away from the road and down into a depression. Follow a well worn path marked with blazes to the cliff, it’s about a 15 minute approach.
