Description

Punta Frida is the area of rock and separate summit between Cima Piccolo and Cima Piccolissimo. It stands directly above the Refugio Lavaredo hotel on the popular walking path to view the great north faces of the Tre Cima. You can walk the crowded hikers trail that is mostly flat to the hut and then ascent steeply up the scree to the base of the climbs. Or, you can leave the main trail after about 15 minutes hiking from the Refugio Auronzo hut and parking area.and turn up a diagonally scree trail that seems to be the climbers way.

Getting There

From Lake Misurina, take the toll road up to Tre Cima (30 euros per car in 2021). Parking is a problem in season and you need to ‘hike’ from where you park to the actual Refugio. Follow one of several ways to walk below Cima Grande south side, Cima Piccolo to near or at the Refugio Lavaredo The route starts by scrambling up a right leaning ramp to fixed anchors and the start of the first pitch.
