Description Suggest change

Lots of Granite blocks in the woods on either side of 302 all through Crawford Notch. This area is up and around Mt. Willard. Nice area to wander and find your own fun in a great setting generally close to your car. I"m sure plenty of these blocks have been climbed before but you'll get the fun of cleaning and figuring it out new or old. Grades are guesses and names are whatever. If you have info on anything posted let it be known.

Getting There Suggest change

These blocks are in the general vicinity of the trail leading to Hatties Garden. Follow trail up from 302 and you will start to see boulders maybe 300ft from the car.

[ R Hall Edit: Per the directions for Mt Willard itself: Park on Rt 302 at a gravel pullout on the west (left) side of the road about a half mile above the Willey Slide pullout (coming from the south/east) or 1 1/2 miles below the AMC's Highland house (coming from the north/west). Coming from the south/east on Rt 302 (i.e from North Conway and Bartlett) this pull-out is on the left beyond where a small stream (Willey Brook) comes in from the left, and JUST before the Saco River crosses underneath Rt 302.

A rocky logging-road starts from the rear of the parking, but quickly turns into a trail.]
