Description Suggest change

This is the huge panel to the right of the Unaweep Wall when looking at this group of rocks while driving West on CO 141. It offers a remote setting, some good summer climbing on the days when it's all but wicked hot in the Grand Valley. We noticed a 10-15 degree difference between the floor of the Grand Valley and the ledge that starts the upper section of climbs. It gets shade at the height of summer about 1:00 PM. It just gets better the farther away from solstice you get.

Getting There Suggest change

Park at the pullout just past the last house on the left. Head up the gully, and then hike on easy terrain toward (there is a faint miner's trail) the canyon that separates the face from the surrounding land. Enter the canyon proper hiking up keeping an eye out for a large cairn that signals the entrance to the trail up the steep slope below the face. Hump up this steep slope to the base of the face. The upper face of this wall is accessed by two climbs. On our best day, we were on the upper ledge from the car in 2 1/4 hours.
