Description Suggest change

The enormous SW facing grey limestone slab at the toe of Abraham Mountain hosts numerous climbs. Climbs include single pitch sport to multi-pitch trad on cheese-grater limestone typical of the area. For the most part, climbs are...slab! This sector is fantastically situated above Lake Abraham, and gets afternoon and evening sun.

Getting There Suggest change

From the Windy Point turn off, drive 3.3 km West (away from Nordegg, towards the park boundary), and pull off the highway just after a road cut (52°14'38.8"N, 116°26'19.2"W). This is the first road cut after (~300 m) Hoodoo creek. Look for Himalaya style bunting on the bare slope just above the road cut. Locate the well traveled trail that heads up towards the bunting, and continue on it, staying on the main path (i.e. do not take the fainter right branch that heads straight up towards the ridge). After ~5 minutes, the trail deposits you at the base of the slabs!
