Tucked in the forest and marshes is an excellent assortment of boulders--from steep and burly at Lily Pond to slabs at Wetmore Pond, to panoramic views of 550 at the Motherlode. Beware: the lower areas by the wetlands can be very buggy from mid-spring through summer. Early Spring, Fall, and Winter are the best times. 

Getting There Suggest change

From Marquette, head northwest on Big Bay Road aka (CR550). Half a mile past the Sugarloaf parking area, there is a parking area for the Wetmore & Lilly Ponds/Hogback Mtn. Trails. The pullout is on the left hand side of the highway in front of a guardrail, very easy to miss.
