Description Suggest change

Gneiss outcrops scattered throughout a boggy, wetland complex. Nice rock with a few truly classic lines. Approach time varies greatly. Climbs in the "backcountry" area of Wetmore pond do not have established trails and have much longer approaches than those near the regular hiking areas.

Getting There Suggest change

From Marquette, head northwest on Big Bay Road aka (CR550). Half a mile past the Sugarloaf parking area, there is a parking area for the Wetmore & Lilly Ponds/Hogback Mtn. Trails. The pullout is on the left hand side of the highway in front of a guardrail, very easy to miss.
