Description
I mistakenly began searching for the Oberhauser Ridge Rocks from below. There is a vast network of trails in this region, one of which heads off a farm road, heading up moderately to reach the wooded path along the main spine of rock. Before reaching them, I noticed a bulging, 12m formation to my left with a clear path leading to it. Lo and Behold! Fixed gear pointed out a route on this satellite block.
Getting There
If you do as I did, park at a small lot in the crook of a tight switchback of roads just north of the castle ruins. This is obviously a hiker's starting point, as there is signage with trail maps and an overview of the entire region. Walk south, glancing desperately for escape routes should a vehicle come your way as you do so. One of the ubiquitous trail posts guides you away from most traffic onto first a dirt farm road, then left off that to begin wandering uphill through the woods. The trail is blazed with purple 'Vital' markers, which I believe stands for 'rough trail' . This is the first substantial rock you will come to, left off the main trail 5m or so. Note the spot I picked on the routefinder map may not be quite right.
It is also possible to walk down the trail from the upper access (which I believe is the normal and best way to access the cliffs generally), just by continuing downward past the main ridgeline.
