Description Suggest change

This area is focused on a cluster of boulders along 4.1 Road. This road runs between the Dolores River and Gateway Canyon Resorts and is located 1/10 mile from the Utah/Colorado border. The area goes nicely with the Dolores River Canyon Boulders on the Utah page.

The rock quality varies and is not as solid as its neighboring neighborhood, nor are the landings nearly as perfect. That said, there is room for development, and there are some option for some hard problems as well.

Getting There Suggest change

Coming from Grand Junction, turn right onto CO Highway 141. Drive 43 miles until you get to Gateway. You will pass the gas station on the right, then cross the Dolores River. 4.2 Road is immediately after the river. Take a right, and head down the road. After 100 yards, the paved road turns to a maintained dirt road. The road essentially follows the Dolores River. If you get to the gate for the state line, you've gone too far. Just 1/10 of a mile before the state line, the cluster of boulders is on your left hand side. Reference map for exact location of boulders.
