Description Suggest change

Robinson Bluff is divided into two main areas, North and South. Climbing walls north of the stairs include Goblin's Grotto and Picasso Wall, where as, climbs south of the stairs start with the Lily Wall, home to the obvious cave. Go to the bottom of the Grand wooden staircase and turn around, looking back at the stairs. These crags and climbs are all north of the stairs, or as viewed to a climber's right.

Walls Currently Open:

All walls are currently open.

* Note - Route and trail improvements are currently underway so stay aware to climbers cleaning along the trail and rock routes.

Routes vary from shorter to tall multi-pitch, having great movement and set for all difficulty levels.

Ratings: While easier climbs are given a rating number representing the climb to be no harder than the rating represented, routes rated 5.10 and up are given a specific max crux rating. This should help you plan your visit and navigate your way along the bluff while using Mountain Project.

Please provide feedback using your MP App. Star rating and rate difficulty feedback helps the next visitors use the app.

GRADING a route or climb. The grade of a climb has become the slang word for rating but really refers to the amount of time it takes to climb a route or mountain line. The rating of a route's difficulty is traditionally described from section-to-section and pitch-to-pitch giving the description of the relative hardest trail or "crux" difficulty.

GRADE:(Time and Endurance)

When grading a route or climb, the grade of a climb traditionally describes the length of a climb by breaking down the amount of time it takes for the average climber to complete a route, from starting the hike to returning back to the trail head. The total time is given a corresponding roman numeral. Most climbs at Robinson require less then an hour round trip. Ha, for those who just climb one route?

Here is a rough translation:

I     = 30 mins - 1 hr or less

II    = 4 hrs or less

III   = 8 hrs or less

IV   = Day of climbing

V    = More then a day

VI   = Several Days
