Description

This area has peaks and multi-pitch rock routes in the Aiguilles Rouges range above the northwest side of the Chamonix valley.

It is north of the the Brevent area and south of the Index area of the Aiguilles Rouges.

Getting There

Climbing routes in the Planpraz area are usually reached by riding up the mechanical lift named Planpraz, then hiking and scrambing.

The bottom station of the Planpraz lift (GPS lat long approx N45.9243 E6.8631) is on the west side of the town of Chamonix Mont Blanc.

Unfortunately in recent years, the operation dates of this lifts have been much shorter than the effective season of climbing.
