Description

Located closer to Sweden than Denmark, this island offers the best climbing in the Baltic Sea. There are no large multi-pitch routes, but plenty of sport and trad routes to keep you busy, and also lots of great bouldering.
The rock is a beautiful golden granite. Climbing takes place on sea cliffs (trad) or quarries (sport), while bouldering can be done anywhere you find a boulder.

Getting There

Though it is a relatively small island and it could be done by bike, it's best to get around here with a car, and you're most likely to arrive with a ferry. Follow this link to plan your arrival via ferry: http://www.faergen.com/routes/bornholmerfaergen.aspx

I really enjoyed the climbing video covering Bornholm's climbing! Thank you Danish Climbing Federation! I was on the Island of Bornholm in the Fall of 1998, for family origins research vs climbing (unfortunately), I remember being very taken with its beauty, great food, and excellent citizens. I will be returning next Spring.
