Description

This small crag sits adjacent to the sea and is quite picturesque. The climbing isn't as good as Moseløkken Stenbrud, but that climbing area is in an active quarry and Randklove is a natural cliff by the sea. Because of its beauty and interesting geological formation, Randklove is popular with hikers.

The climbs at Randklove are not affected by the tide and are sunny much of the day. The approach is almost a kilometer in length with about 75 meters of elevation loss. While there are reportedly 45 routes at this area, visiting climbers will likely only want to do a handful of them (Røde Mor, Sorte Else, Robin and Victory).

Getting There

Park in the parking lot for the Saint Ols Institution at 55.165536, 15.037185. This parking lot is located about 6.5km southeast of the town of Gudhjem on the east coast of Bornholm.

From the parking lot, walk around the right (southeast) side of the buildings then turn right on the north side of a volleyball court. Walk about 80 meters east on an obvious track to a line of trees. Turn north (left, sign for Randklove) and walk along the right edge of a field for about 660 meters. You will be walking slightly downhill on an obvious track, with the tree line on your right. The obvious track enters the trees, where you will find a trail intersection with the coastal trail and another Randklove sign (coordinates of 55.171527, 15.040124).

Follow the braided path down and left about 50 meters and you should be at the upper end of a chasm that runs down and right (east) to the tidal area. Go down through the chasm to its lower end, where the best of the climbs are located. The cliff sits just above the tidal area and there are several big, flat boulders to gear up on.
