Description Suggest change

Vang Granitbrud is an old quarry just south of the village of Vang on the west coast of Bornholm. While not aesthetically pleasing, the quarry is home to more than a dozen sport routes as well as some bouldering. The quarry area is popular with hikers and has a pit toilet and a camping shelter.

One of the main formations with sport climbs (Den Røde Væg) is identified on Google Maps as "Himalaya." While mis-located on Google Maps, this formation is clearly visible from the parking area.

In addition to the routes within the quarry, there are a series of small sea cliffs nearby along the coast south of the Vang Pier.

Getting There Suggest change

The quarry can be approached by car from highway 159 to the south of Vang. The parking area in the quarry is located at 55.242603, 14.735943.

The quarry can also be approached on foot from Vang. Park at the south end of the Vang harbor (coordinates of 55.247791, 14.735042) and walk south along the coast about 370 meters to the old Vang Pier. Turn left (inland) and you'll see a steel footbridge over a chasm. Walk uphill through this roadcut/chasm into the lower (western) portion of the quarry.
