Description
AB's boulder area has the best rock in the Mifipro Road area. Fun, clean routes can be found on several boulders right on the edge of farm fields. The approach is easy by northern TZ bouldering standards and the view of the surrounding landscape is beautiful. This is my favorite spot to boulder in northern TZ.
Getting There
Now, here's the tricky part. From the Mifipro Road parking lot, head back west along the road until you are out of the bush land and into farm fields. There are several good points to cross the ditch north into the farm fields, any one will bring you to the boulders.
After crossing the ditch, walk north across the fields until you reach the edge of the hillside where the fields end. Follow this edge north-northwest until you start seeing boulders out in the open. Don't go into the bushes! Just follow the northwest edge of the fields until you see rocks in the open.
The first boulder you see out in the clear will be Rhonda's Rock. AB's boulder is just up the hillside from there. I'll post pictures of both and a hand-drawn map soon.
The approach takes about 15-20 minutes if you know exactly where you're going. It can be up to 40 minutes if you are unsure. For the best results, study Google Earth and download the map offline to use with you when you go.
