Description
Tanzania is big East African nation of very friendly people with amazing wildlife and countryside, Tanzania is home to the highest peak on the continent (Kilimanjaro) and has a number of crags where rock climbing can be done.
Getting There
Flights regularly run from Europe to Tanzania. The two most frequented airports are:
1) Kilimanjaro International Airport (airport code JRO), which is located about an hour's drive east of Arusha. This is the airport to use if you are climbing Kilimanjaro and/or going on safari. This airport should not be confused with the smaller airport just east of Arusha, which has many commuter flights per day to the Serengeti, Zanzibar, Dar Es Salaam, etc.
2) Dar Es Salaam (airport code DAR), the capital of Tanzania.
It also is possible to enter Tanzania from adjacent Kenya if, as an example, you are combining ascents of Kilimanjaro and Kenya on the same trip.
