Description

This is a new DEM state park that exists at the old Rocky Point amusement park location. There is a fair bit of rock here that has a cool texture and many overhangs.

Sandstone in warwick ri, who'd have thought that? I grew up about 2 miles away from this place but never saw the railroad boulders until I recently took a hike in the park. I do remember seeing a roadside puddingstone boulder that was VERY loose and chossy all of these boulders were off limits (fences) when the amusement park was open. I thought to myself: you snooze you lose, wish I had known long ago when I was more able to crank out problems like those I saw on my hike. Nov 24, 2017
Climbed with a geologist today -- he informs me that all the rock at the main crag is local eroded sandstone, not glacial granite. That's why it feels so much gentler on the skin than Lincoln Woods! Sep 17, 2017

Sweet! It will be nice to have good write-ups on them. Nov 22, 2015
A bunch of us down in south county were able to get the history of already established route information here from many years prior, as well as establish at least 20+ new routes early this year on most of the boulders. Problems range from V0 to V9 (in addition to some undone projects). I will add information as soon as i can for all boulders. Nov 21, 2015
There's a new England lemonade guy at the main gate everyday in the summer too. That's a huge giant bonus. Nov 16, 2015

If you are going to top out you will want a rope in many places. It is 25 feet tall in some spots with rocks below. Nov 16, 2015
