All of the crags within the New River Gorge proper are on national parklands, and drone use is prohibited here. There has been some discussion about places to launch drones that are not on park property, and then flying them over the gorge. This is super poor form; don't do it. Park regulations prohibit all drone use over the boundaries without a permit.
Getting There
Park in the lot for the Cotton Top cliff and Hawks Nest Dam bouldering area. Once parked, walk to the bottom of the lot and right up the path off to the side. As the path starts up the hill there will be a hard right not too far up, at this point take a faint trail to the left and walk up hill for 5 minutes until you reach the boulder home to Half Moon Tilt and Man on the Moon.
