Description Suggest change

**12,568 ft (3,831 m)**

Also known as Treasure Peak. While not as tall as Merriam, Royce, or Feather across the way, this peak is worthy. If you're hiking to the Royce Lakes to climb Merriam, this could be a good way to get more climbing for your hiking. The north side of the peak has a lot of good looking granite and is home to two routes from the 60's as well as the Northeast Ridge.

The summit block is airy and unprotected low-5th class.

Getting There Suggest change

Park at the end of the Pine Creek Road at the pack station. Walk through the pack station gate to get to the trail. Hike up the Pine Creek Trail 6.4 miles to the turn-off for Granite Park and Honeymoon Lake. Follow this trail around Honeymoon Lake and up to about 10,500.

From here if you're only climbing 12,563 travel cross-country and camp somewhere near Golden Lake. If climbing Merraim, Feather, etc continue through Royce Col to get to Royce Lakes. Either way you're hiking through relatively pristine High Sierra country. Practice LNT travel: walk on rocks and slabs when you can, don't build cairns, camp in already hardened sites.
