Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

Short, sharp-edged and square in a nice shade of brown, this refrigerator shaped block is immediately recognizable from afar and features two routes up it's front side aretes - The Refrigerator - Left Side (5.10c) and The Refrigerator - Right Side (5.11a TR).

Getting There

Approach like The Cornerstone (Uncle Willie's approach past the Freak Brothers Dome and then east into the Wonderland Wash as it heads northeast) but continue another 100 meters or so to the north to the obvious west-facing formation. The large Don Genaro Boulder is about 400 meters to the south.

The approach takes anywhere from 35 minutes to an hour from the parking area.
