Access Issue: Working farm-contact landowners before climbing
Details
Frog Pond is on the property of the Stubbs family, and is currently leased out to Greg Scott. Greg is happy for climbers to visit as long as permission has been given from the Stubbs family. He also expects the usual considerations with respect to his livestock (no dogs, do not chase or molest stock in any way, leave gates as you find them, etc.)
Call Angus or Ann Stubbs for access at (07) 878 8594.

Description
A small sport and trad crag has been established on the same farm that houses the Airstrip (Waitomo's best known bouldering area) and Stubb's Wall (an area predominantly used for guiding school groups). Although this scenic and secluded crag is seldom visited, the rock lacks the dust that plagues untrammeled routes at many of the more obscure King Country climbing areas.
Getting There
The Stubbs farm is located approximately 15km from the Waitomo Caves village towards
Marakopa. Drive past the Awatiro driveway and the Te tiro driveways, and down a hill past Waipina road on your left. 1.8 km past Waipina road, as the road begins to straighten out, is a wooden gate off the road to you right. Park here and follow the track to your right, heading over the rise of the hill and into the next valley over. It can be quite difficult to find. The crag will be an outcropping of limestone on the left.
