Description
Oolitic limestone giving nice pocket pulling and cracks. mainly in the Severe to HVS grade range.
2 main areas, Castle rock, which is the main climbing area.
There is some longer chossy stuff on the right hand side of the common, near the old iron age fort with a few easy boulder problems/short routes further right again.

Getting There
Castle Rock can be reached from the B4632 (formerly A46) road to Winchcombe, four miles north-west of Cheltenham. There is space for three cars to park just over the cattle grid at the top of the lane by the Rising Sun hotel (on the right halfway up the hill). Parking on the lane before the gate or on the track immediately below Castle Rock is not permitted, and unfortunately appears no longer to be tolerated.
