Kyrgyzstan Climbing

Getting to Kyrgyzstan is relatively easy. Now you can get a tourist visa for free for a month when you go through the airport! You would most likely fly into the capitol city of Bishkek, unless you are planning a trip down south to the Karavshin Valley, in which case you will probably fly into Bishkek, spend a day here, and then get a flight down to Osh.

Near Bishkek is where most bolted routes are found as well as Ala Archa National Park where there are lots of great alpine routes. The big walls are located in the Region of Batken in the Karavshin Valley, Major peaks can be found in nearly every area of the country with the greatest concentration in the Eastern part of the country. Travel within the country is safe, and usually inexpensive.
