Description
This rock is named for its resemblance to the docile sea-cow.
There are, as of yet, no routes on this boulder. However, the potential for a tough and slopey sit-start is certainly there.
This boulder is included in the database as a landmark on your way to finding the Extensions 3 Boulder along the Extensions trail.
I added it as its own area/crag due to the likelihood that SOMEONE will find something to climb on it, even it that person is not me.
So, get after it and put your name down for the FA of this most cumbersome of mammals.
(Or just walk by it and feel glad that you're not lost.)

Getting There
The Manatee is one of the more recognizable features along the meandering path that winds through the Extensions area.
This rock will be spotted after walking north from Extensions 2 for about 4 minutes. You will come into a less densely wooded area with some smaller rocks indicating a moraine and the Manatee will appear shortly.
In order to continue towards Extensions 3, pass by the right side of the Manatee and look for cairns that lead you down a small moraine of microwave-sized boulders. Look up the hill to your left to spot the Extensions 3 Boulder peeking behind the trees.
