Ha Long Bay is made up of thousands of limestone karats towers. Overall the Bay is still in need of much development. However, the Vietnam government is not very supportive of rock climbing. Deep water soloing is currently tolerated but installation of bolts must be cleared through the government.

Over the past 10 years Cat Ba seems to have been in flucuation as businesses try to operate. Be ready for a bit of an unknown adventure if you try to get here to climb.

Getting There

Ha Long Bay is accessed by most climbers from Cat Ba Town via a boat tour scheduled through SloPony. The boat trip into the bay costs at least $20 per person if 8 people are signed up to go out and goes up from there.
