Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet. Details

Description

This south facing drainage gets plenty of sunshine with some afternoon shade. A few hikers may wander thru, but no crowds.

Getting There

Before heading up "the trail of tears", head up the drainage on the east side of the three little peaks. This is also an alternate approach to the Spy Cliff.

The Trail of Tears starts at the gravel parking lot that serves the Kraft Mountain bouldering area and leads to Yin and Yang and Sunny and Steep walls. The best approach (IMO)to the West side of the South Peak is to continue up the trail until you can see that you are able to traverse to your right and be above the ledge that goes to the base of South Peak, then proceed right above the ledge.
