Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet. Details

Description

About 40 feet down and around the corner from The Young and Restless lies this very short but attractive splitter: the Orange Crack.

Climb a right-facing corner to a ledge and walk a few feet right, below a steep, off-finger crack. Enjoy two body-lengths of Indian Creek (with footholds!) then top out left and then up.

Scramble down climber's right or walk off climber's left.

Chris, this is certainly a bold solo climb due to the abundance of loose and scrappy rock on the route; nice! The grade felt similar to "Breezy" in Eldo with the head space needed for "Calypso". All in all, fun climb. I went right at the second big ledge instead of left -- fun little extension to the top. I'd recommend bringing a #3 + some small stuff + an extra #1. Feb 5, 2018
