From CDOT: Colorado Highway 7 is closed daily from MP 23-29.5. Motorists can only travel through the area between 6-8 am and 4-7 pm. During these timeframes, pilot cars will lead alternating one-way travel. Drivers should plan for delays, and this schedule will remain in place through Memorial Day 2022.
During the closure, motorists need to take US 36 to CO 7.

Description
This area is not that popular, secluded, and offers sunnier climbing during the winter months. The rock, like a lot of SSV rock is often grainy and sharp. This isn't Eldo, but there won't be a line either.
Getting There
Deadman's Gulch is approximately 3.65 miles up SSV canyon from the intersection of US 36 and CO 7 in Lyons. There are large and small pullouts on the left at this distance up the canyon. Directly across CO 7 from this pulloff is the gulch which, during the wet months, has a small creek running through it. There are a few rock formations that host some short rock climbs that face south, the Atoll, the Dancehall of the Dead, the Shrine of Vanity, and the Deadman's Gulch Boulder.
