Getting There
From the town of Mammoth Lakes follow Main Street, and continue straight at the traffic lights onto Lake Mary Road. Follow this until a left turn can be made towards Coldwater Campground. After 1 mile turn left into the campground and follow the campground up the hill to the Emerald Lake trailhead.
Follow the trail towards Emerald Lake, after about 1/2 mile there is a clearly signposted trail right towards TJ Lake and Lake Barrett. Take this trail, and after about 5 minutes head left (South West) up the slope to a plateau and the boulder field.
