The Kahuna boulder is home to one of the most classic problems on the Front Range, the Kahuna Roof. There are only a few problems on this boulder, and it is partially submerged in the lake when the water level is high. The prominent feature of this rock is the clean overhaning West face with absolutely perfect landings below it. The rock's quality is superb, and it's even in the shade in the morning and early afternoon.

****Due to being partially underwater for half of the year, this boulder has drastically shifted and sunk over the years****

Getting There Suggest change

The Kahuna boulder lies at the top of the beach on Carter Lake, just below the main North bouldering area on the hillside. Either walk along the beach from the road, or follow one of the trails to the main area and walk straight downhill towards the lakie. The Kahuna Boulder has a large roof on one side, and is the closest boulder to the lake.
