Bologna Pony
Mar 3, 2026 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Almost got it this time. With beta the lower section isn't so bad and efficiency reduces flash pump up top which is the real villain of the route. Secret blind foot is important; I was using a terrible right foot instead last time that made for a desperate crux. I can actually do it. I don't even need the heel hook to grab the bucket. I can just do a pull up.

Feb 28, 2026 · Lead / Redpoint. Amnesia flash. Trump/Biden flash. I remembered precisely zero beta, so I did my usual flailing and failing to commit, but eventually I did it. I took forever getting over the bulge, frozen halfway over. I think I know how I could do that more easily. Definitely some difficult sections with small feet and/or smears.

Feb 28, 2026 · Follow. A unique Cliffs traverse (not counting the Car Body one) with a variety of moves. The back of the big sloper most of the way toward the anchors is full of bird feces. Speaking of anchors, we added mussies. One of the quick links was loose enough to unscrew with no effort, which was mildly concerning. Fixed, obviously.

Feb 27, 2026 · TR. Pulling over the bulge isn't too hard for me now. If anything there was a lower crux. I tried briefly putting my heel around the corner of the bulge and noped out on TR, so I guarantee that's not happening for me on lead. I also think it would be more difficult than using the toe on the same hold, so I have no idea what could be 5.9 about it. I also found that the stuff after the roof is hard with an awkwardly placed bolt that requires an extra move or two after pulling the bulge with a bolt on the column underneath that would be of dubious reliability for safety. Seems to me like a fall should result in a wet smack against the column. Idk falling physics. A small cam, maybe two under the roof can help with that.

Feb 21, 2026 · Attempt. Linked all the way through the bump move. Just need to figure out the left foot situation there and it goes. Next time, next time.

Feb 21, 2026 · Send. Finally put the parts together. Bled again. Same spot, same cause. The jug is good but it slices me like a surgeon. There was a bit of spotter dab on the big swing move but I'd have held it without that.
