Description
A long featured romp. In the conversation for the best single pitch 5.7 sport route in Index. None of the moves are that hard, but if you like moving continuously on rock and cool features this route is for you.
A 70m IS REQUIRED TO LOWER BACK DOWN TO THE GROUND.
Start on an obvious belay platform up and left of the start for Hand of Doom/Walking Legend and climb up to a first bolt directly above the belay. Clip a bolt then head left to a second bolt then back clean the first bolt to prevent rope drag later on. Its wise to extend the first few and last few bolts.
Once on the route enjoy fun jugs and good feet for 50 feet or so until a balancy 5.7 crux appears. Above here the route character changes with a fun crack system followed by a finishing move either going right into a void or straight up via a mantel.
Belay/Descent:
If you're planning to top rope, it's probably best to belay from the good ledge above to minimize drag. Otherwise a 70m rope gets you to the ground in one rappel with about a foot to spare. Tie knots in your ends. If you only brought a 60 you can also rappel down and climbers left to the top of the wart and walk off from here.
A belay bolt will be added later, but for added safety you can affix yourself to the big tree at the belay.
Cleaning:
Due to the low angle and good holds this route is constantly picking up pine needles and debris from above. If people keep climbing it and brushing off the debris over time it will stay clean. If not it is probably doomed. If you enjoy this route please consider brushing off some of the holds with your hand or a brush. Expect some degree of pine needles at all times.
