Description Suggest change

Continuum begins on the ice known as Aboriginal Genocide, then climbs three mixed pitches following a rightwards trending right facing corner system to the top out plateau of Murchison Falls.

P1: WI 4-5 30m. Climb lower angle ice to the steeper than it looks hanging curtain.

P2: Hiking and low angle ice 65m. Bump the belay up and right to base of a WI 3 flow.

P3: WI3 M5 45m. Climb the last bit of ice to the right facing crack system capped with a roof. Balance on slabby feet and traverse right under the roof making a move onto a ledge. A bd #4 was nice here to protect the traverse under the roof. Continue right on the ledge for a few meters to build an anchor. We found a fixed pin and nut in a thin crack.

P4: M5+ 35m. From the fixed anchor, traverse back left until under a right facing corner. Make a reachy move to gain the right trending crack above the ledge. Hook your way to a small roof then make delicate moves out right under the roof to good hooks in a thin crack. A large beak and a small lost arrow protected the seam well. Move up until you reach another ledge. Traverse right 5m and build a belay in good cracks. Several anchor options from small to hand sized cams.

P5: 5.5 60m. Navigate blocky terrain for 10m to reach a large ledge. Walk right for 30-40m, then make a few mixed moves up a shallow corner leading to snow and the top out.

Descent: Walk right to the top of Murchison Falls. Find the Murchison top out anchors, then rappel with two ropes making threads on your way down.
