Description Suggest change

Start up a teeny ledge under the shade tree, clip the 1st bolt, and keep on going right up the buttress until reaching the anchor atop it. As it typical of the left side of Wolf, it is relatively sustained climbing almost the whole way with no obvious crux.

This line crosses Flying Scorpion (which goes left across it on the way to the Balrog anchor) so you should expect to pass a "mystery" bolt off in right field, then one off in left field.

Options from here include Flying Scorpion pitch 3 (up), or at some mild risk, cutting up and left onto Scope Creep. It will be a bit of a runout but the climbing is easy. It is not impossible to cut from Smeagol over onto Scope Creep in one megapitch, but bring two six foot extendo-draws (see Scope Creep entry).

Location Suggest change

The 3rd line having turned right at the wall (Coriolis effect, Balrog, Smeagol). Start on the tiny ledge system right under the tree.

Protection Suggest change

12 bolts to anchor
