Description Suggest change

Mostly very enjoyable scrambling starting from Gilbert Lake up the full Northeast Ridge, passing a few imposing gendarmes on the eastside of the ridge. 800ft of loose gully towards the end before the final summit ridge is the only downside but much better than the other scramble routes that involve 2000+ft of the same kind of terrain. Plenty of optional fun low 5th class slabs and cracks along the way mostly towards the beginning and end of the ridge are the highlights of this route.

Location Suggest change

From Gilbert Lake look for a sandy & rocky ramp leading up to solid rock gullies that take you onto the ridge proper.

Protection Suggest change

Shoes with sticky rubber and maybe microspikes or crampons depending on the season.
