Description Suggest change

This has been climbed many times in the past but now should be an enjoyable easy outing.

Pitch 1: climb up a few feet to a split. Head left following a hand crack up to a big tree. Climb over and around the tree and head right, and follow a broken ledge to the base of the big obviously chimney. Belay off a single bolt backed up with a tree or stopper or both, 5.6, 60’.

Variation: on pitch one, you can take the right at the split right off the ground, and climb directly to the chimney at 5.8. If you do this, you can link into pitch 2 without too much rope drag.

Pitch 2: climb up the ramp in the bottom of the chimney to its top. There is a thin crack on the left side that takes gear. Stem up, and clip a bolt that protects the move onto the tower. Climb a few more moves, and you’re at a two bolt anchor on top, 5.6, 75’.

Descent: rappel 60’ off the south side of the tower to the Stargazer anchor, then rappel 75’ to the ground.
