Description Suggest change

"Archangels" is a fun and varied moderate multipitch route in the Escalera Arabe - Suiza sector that ascends halfway up Los Frontales. It's well bolted (maybe too well sometimes) with comfortable belays and a rappel descent. A few trees along the way offer welcome shade on this south-facing wall. Most pitches are comparatively easy with good rests and some low-angle ground in between. Pitch description:

P1: 5.6, 12 m

P2: 5.6, 18 m

P3: 5.9-, 28 m

P4: 5.7, 30 m

P5: 5.7, 30 m

P6: 5.8, 28 m

Pitches 1 and 2 can easily be linked with a 70 m rope and ~15 draws. Continue slightly left from there (Blue Line splits off to right) up a nice little arête, the crux and money pitch (P3).

Getting down: 5 x 30 m raps (70 m rope recommended, combine p2 and p1). Angle to climber's left below P3 to find the P2 anchor.

Location Suggest change

Start under the carob tree at the left side of the Suiza sector, just right of Rogelio. The first two pitches are shared with Blue Line - both routes are prominently labeled at the start.

Protection Suggest change

Bolts, two-bolt anchors.
