Ballfield Slabs may be closed if raptor nesting is discovered in the area. Per CT-DEEP, the Ballfield slabs have historically been closed when there are nesting raptors in the area, typically May - August. Check raggedmtn.org/blog for information if there are current closures.
Description
Start on right arete of Emergency Breakthrough (info in Fasulo guidebook), gain a horizontal and traverse to a protruding block. Follow 2” lightning bolt crack to the overhang. Make a few strenuous and committing moves away from gear (PG) under-clinging the roof to the right to gain a platform, finish up a crack and share the finish with Tackling Mailboxes.
Variation avoids exposed underling beta by staying low on a slab problem traverse using a horizontal with poor rock quality. (G)
