Open Project

From ground to chains, this route will demand everything. The route will take you through steep and near-blank terrain, cryptic and implausible sequences, and will require continuous precise and tense movement with little rests. Challenging off the deck, the first half of this line is crux after crux after crux comprised of low-percentage, technical moves on marginal, sloping hands and feet. There is a line, but the exact sequence is yet to be deciphered. 

Like its neighboring routes to the right and left, at about mid height the route angle changes, depositing the climber onto a vertical to slightly slabby face requiring precision and technique. Find active rests where you can, because the slab will lead you to a final section that is low-percentage and tenuous before the anchors.

This is currently the longest line at the Bowling Alley. It is also completely natural, and hopefully it will be able to remain so.  

Grade is estimated at 13d-14b from the few that have attempted it, with the yet-to-be freed crux coming at and between the chain draws.

2024 update/disclaimer: This route is fully bolted but may require more development effort in the form of cleaning (base/top, minor) by whoever ends up being its potential suitor on and for the FA. While ready to be climbed, don’t expect to walk up to this open project and have a perfectly manicured route awaiting an easy FA if you climb the grade. It has seen limited attempts that were made out of curiosity of “will it go?”. General consensus is that it will, but more beta discovery is needed. It was initially bolted with input and assistance from some local climbers capable of potentially sending it. The initial time, money, and effort was intended to be an ego-less contribution to the area in order to lay a foundation for someone who would see the route to completion. Unfortunately, it could not be developed to its final form and a send before the initial developer had to move out of state. Therefore, initial developer gives permission any inspired individual(s) to alter the route and bolts as they see fit, within local ethics. If this approach, ethic, or mindset is deemed a faux pas by the local community, and if subsequently deemed appropriate by the community, the bolts/hangers can be removed and repurposed for other projects in the area.
