Description Suggest change

VF grade 4C. With a full 2h on the cable, this is one of the longest and best VFs in the Dolomites!

The route starts at the Funivia Rosetta cable car mid station. Hike up on paths 712/706 to the memorial plaque, past a few easy sections of cable that probably don't need gearing up for. Follow red spots onto the cable, than take it up to Bivacco Fiamme Gialle, which will take 1-2h.

To descend, take the gully down Val Cantoni - in late season, no snow to be found and it was a relatively simple descent to Rif Rosetta. We took the cable car back all the way down giving a ~6h round trip.

There are various variations that include tacking on an ascent of the chossy Vezzana or Cimon della Palla (needs climbing gear), but these may jeopardize catching the cable car down!

Location Suggest change

On the reddish wall of the Cimon della Pala. The start of the VF (approx) is near 46.27949, 11.82665.

Protection Suggest change

Via Ferrata cable. Lanyard needed.
